Final Cut Pro has never handled retiming very well. Enter Motion 3 and optical flow retiming - a vastly superior yet time consuming way to create slow motion retimed clips. Apple introduced optical flow retiming into the Final Cut Studio with the Motion 3 release. This will probably be better integrated in future version of Final Cut Pro - but for now we examine the Final Cut Pro to Motion 3 back to Final Cut Pro roundtrip method of optical flow retiming.
